What Is The Secret To Perfect Fudge?

Making fudge could be considered an art form — like most baked goods!

While you don’t need to load up on a lot of unnecessary ingredients (hello, no bake peanut butter fudge without confectioners sugar), you do need to make sure that the fudge mixture is fully melted and smooth before adding it to the baking dish to cool.

Your no cook peanut butter fudge should be smooth and firm to the touch, but easy to slice and bite into.

What Causes No Bake Peanut Butter Fudge Not To Harden?

You could end up with mushy 2 ingredient no bake peanut butter fudge if you don’t melt the peanut butter chips and condensed milk enough.

Remember: you want the mixture to be completely smooth. If you leave a few unmelted chips in there it won’t harden the way you want it to.

Make sure to check it before you pour it into the baking dish to set!

Can I Use Condensed Milk Instead Of Evaporated Milk In Fudge?

Absolutely! That’s what this 2 ingredient peanut butter fudge with condensed milk recipe is all about.

Some recipes will tell you that you can’t replace the evaporated milk, but after some trial and error, I was able to determine that yes, you can.

Should I Refrigerate No Cook Peanut Butter Fudge?

You’ll have to allow your 2 ingredient no bake peanut butter fudge to set in the fridge.

I also recommend storing it in the refrigerator as well — when stored properly, it will keep for up to 1 week!

If you want to make a double batch to freeze for later, you can do that too. Make sure to place it in an airtight freezer-safe container first.

It will keep in the freezer for up to 2 months. Allow it to thaw overnight before serving.
